One quick and easy way to improve your email marketing campaigns
I have noticed that many of our self managed customers often leave out one element of their html email creatives that can easily improve their click through rates.
All research and previous campaign experience indicates that both web and email users just LOVE clicking on things.
They try to click on text, images, headers, footers, they just seem to have a thing for clicking!
It is a very easy thing to put links on all images.
Yes all images: headers, footers, story photos, even graphical elements.
You will be surprised at the click through rate on even the most obscure images.
The destination page of these click throughs can be your main website or even better, a custom landing page focussed around the content of your email newsletter.
If you don't put links on the images you are losing out on recipients that are clicking on your images in any case.
In our own newsletter one surprise has been click throughs the top image gets, even though there is no strong call to action.
So next time you send out a campaign, link all your images, and in your campaign statistics (you are sending out your broadcast emails through a specialist system aren't you?) you are bound to have a few surprises.
